Longevity Zen Temple is a large-scale religious site on Xiushan Island, well-known in the Eastern Zhejiang region.

Nestled among the green hills, a group of simple buildings with green tiles and yellow walls is known as the ‘Ancient Longevity Hermitage’. The temple is arranged in three parallel sections, with three main halls along the central axis. The front hall is the Hall of the Heavenly Kings, and the main hall is the Mahavira Hall, which, like other temples, houses the main Buddha Shakyamuni, flanked by the standing figures of Amitabha and the Medicine Buddha.
Behind the hall, there are three stupas made of Wenling jade stone, containing the relics of the three generations of patriarchs of Longevity Hermitage. The stupas are not tall, with a round body and pointed top, exuding a delicate and solemn presence amidst the green hills and trees. Surrounding the hills, one can find the orchid-like elegance, and in front of the hermitage, people pray for longevity.
Many visitors, attracted by the auspicious name of the temple, come from afar to burn incense and worship, seeking a Buddhist connection with this ancient hermitage. The temple is open all year round from 8:00 to 17:00.
