Luòtuo Bridge

In the heart of Huzhou city, there stands the historic Luòtuo Bridge, originally constructed in the Tang Dynasty’s Chuigong first year (AD 685), named for its arch resembling the hump of a camel.

During the Northern Song Dynasty, it was known alongside Yi Feng Bridge and Gantang Bridge as one of the three major bridges in the ancient city of water town Huzhou.

The original name ‘Luòtuo Bridge’ was inscribed by Tang Yan Zhenqing during his tenure as the prefect of Huzhou, but it has been lost over the course of history.

The current Luòtuo Bridge serves as a junction for North Street, East Street, Hongqi Road, and Renmin Road. Approximately a decade ago, the commercial center of Huzhou, including Huzhou Building, Huzhou Department Store, and Huzhou No.1, were all located in the area around Luòtuo Bridge, making the term ‘Luòtuo Bridge’ a synonym for the city center in Huzhou.

Beneath the bridge flows the Huzhou River – Zha Creek, and along the banks of the city’s river, there are now open-style riverside parks and Luòtuo Bridge Square.

The bridge is open all year round, accessible 24/7.
