Maoshan Scenic Area in Jintan

Maoshan, known as the ‘First Blessed Land and Eighth Cavern Heaven’, is a sacred Taoist mountain located at the junction of Jintan District in Changzhou City, Zhenjiang City, and Jurong City in Jiangsu Province, China. It stretches north to south and covers an area of more than 50 square kilometers.

Maoshan is a renowned Taoist mountain in Jiangsu Province, China, and the birthplace of the Shangqing Taoist sect, referred to by Taoists as the ‘Supreme Pure Altar’. It is also one of the six major anti-Japanese mountain bases in China.


Positioned as a hub for ‘Taoist wellness, leisure vacation, and eco-tourism’, Jintan City has recently reconstructed ancient Taoist temples such as Qianyuan Temple, Chongshou Temple, and Yuanyang Temple. The overall planning of the 108-square-kilometer Maoshan tourism area highlights the Taoist, landscape (hot springs), tea culture, and educated youth culture of Maoshan, and has increased investment efforts, attracting leisure tourism projects such as Bao Sheng Garden, Zi Yun Lake, Oriental Salt Lake City, and Jinsha Bay Country Club.


The scenic area is open all year round, 24/7, with specific opening hours for each scenic spot within the area subject to the regulations of the scenic area.


Preferential Policies: Children under 1.4 meters (inclusive) enter for free; children between 1.4 meters (exclusive) and 1.5 meters (exclusive) are eligible for child tickets; seniors over 70 years old (inclusive) with ID or senior citizen cards enter for free; students with student IDs are eligible for student tickets; disabled individuals with disability certificates enter for free; active-duty military personnel with officer or soldier ID cards enter for free.
