Monga Qingshui Rock, commonly known as the Ancestral Temple, is dedicated to the guardian deity of Anxi people, Qingshui Zu Shi. The surrounding fields of the early Taipei Basin were mostly cultivated by Anxi immigrants. During the late Qing Dynasty Sino-French War, when Taipei was in urgent danger, it is said in folklore that it was because of the invitation of Qingshui Zu Shi to assist that Taipei was able to be peaceful, thus making the temple more prosperous. The Monga Qingshui Rock has been used as a school and later as a provincial secondary school, which is the predecessor of today’s Chenggong Middle School, and holds significant importance in the history of education. The temple is open all year round from 05:30 to 21:30, with the specific operating status subject to the opening conditions on the day.
