Muzha Old Tea Horse Road

The Old Tea Horse Road stretches from Zhinan Guo Elementary School to Sanxuan Palace, covering a distance of approximately 1.2 kilometers. The entrance is quite conspicuous, marked by an explanatory sign that details the origins of the ancient path, the surrounding geographical features, and includes a poem. As one ascends along the old road, tea gardens gradually appear on the left hillside. After passing through a bamboo forest, one encounters well-preserved ancient stone steps that maintain their original, rustic charm and exude a sense of historical vicissitudes. This section, though only a few hundred meters long, is quite evocative. Along the way, there are small explanatory signs that provide detailed information on the history of Muzha’s tea development, various types of tea, and methods of tea brewing. Walking through this area inevitably evokes memories of the prosperous era of tea. The site is open year-round and accessible 24 hours a day.
