Nanjing Science and Technology Museum is divided into four parts: exhibition and film area, youth activity area, tea garden viewing area and wetland leisure area. The main building of the science and technology museum is composed of permanent exhibition halls, temporary exhibition halls and conference and lecture halls. The permanent exhibition hall breaks the traditional concept in the past and is divided into four floors with heaven, earth and people as the main lines. There are five theme exhibition areas including universe exploration, intelligent master, all phenomena of the earth, creating heaven and earth, and children’s science and technology paradise, as well as a public safety education exhibition hall. Among the more than 300 exhibits in the exhibition area, 70% are participatory projects, allowing tourists to experience the unique feeling brought by science personally, and personally understand the charm of science and the invisible power of enhancing the wisdom of teenagers. Here, tourists can watch the ‘Thousand-Handed Avalokitesvara’ and ‘sports gymnastics’ performances of humanoid robots, as well as the dance performances of hexapod robots and pulley robots; experience the excitement and joy brought by simulated driving and simulated flight; feel the scientific mysteries behind the magical phenomena of high-voltage discharge and bristling with anger, so as to achieve the effect of entertaining and educating. In addition, there are IMAX dome cinemas, 3D/4D cinemas, animation children’s theaters, etc.
The opening hours are from 09:00 to 17:00 from Wednesday to Sunday throughout the year; closed all day on Monday and Tuesday throughout the year; open from 09:00 to 17:00 on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day.
