The National History Museum is located within the Botanical Garden on Nanhai Road, and it is a museum that primarily collects and displays artifacts from the Central Plains, second only to the National Palace Museum in Taipei. The museum features a classical Chinese architectural style with green tiles, white walls, and red pillars, blending Ming and Qing dynasty influences, and is elegant and magnificent. The museum houses nearly 50,000 pieces, mainly consisting of cultural relics relocated from Henan Museum and antiquities returned after World War II from Japan. These include bronze wares unearthed in Anyang, pre-Qin cord-marked pottery from Luoyang, and Tang Sancai from the Six Dynasties. Donations from government institutions and private collectors have further enriched the museum’s exhibits. The museum is closed all day on Mondays and Sundays throughout the year; it is open from 10:00 to 18:00 from Tuesday to Saturday, with specific opening hours subject to on-site announcements at the scenic spot.
