Chongxing Temple Ancient Stage is located between Shijia Village and Houxi Village in Ninghai Xidian Town, and is jointly owned by both villages. Shijia and Houxi share the same clan and surname, with all villagers bearing the surname Shi, descendants of Shi Xianwen, a court official during the Song Dynasty’s Qian Dao period.

During the mid-Kangxi period, Shi Chengwo established Suoxing Temple. Shi Yuntai, also known as Yi Ding, moved Chongxing Temple to the left side of the Shijia Ancestral Hall in the 21st year of the Daoguang era (1841), and the stage along with the three interconnected caisson ceilings were constructed simultaneously.
