The Piao Miao Peak Tower is located at the summit of Piao Miao Peak in the Western Hills. It is a four-story, octagonal structure, standing at 20 meters tall and was constructed in 2006. It serves as an essential forest fire warning facility for the Taihu West Hill National Forest Park. Beneath the tower lies a warehouse for storing firefighting equipment.
As the Song Dynasty literary figure Fan Chengda once wrote, ‘Fear not that your heart has no place to roam, for from the peak of Piao Miao, you can gaze upon the vast Taihu Lake.’ Ascending to the top of the Piao Miao Peak Lookout Tower allows one to take in the panoramic views of the lake and mountains, covering an area of 36,000 hectares, which is truly refreshing and inspiring. It is considered one of the finest spots for high-altitude tourism in the Taihu region. Sightseeing vehicles are available to directly transport visitors to Piao Miao Peak.
