Qian Mu’s Former Residence, also known as ‘Sushu Building’, was the living place of the master of classical Chinese studies, Mr. Qian Mu, during his lifetime. It is located on the campus of Soochow University in Taipei. The residence was the home where Mr. Qian lived in Taiwan in 1967. Every brick and stone in the residence is a testament to Mr. Qian’s years of dedication. Now, Qian Mu’s Former Residence operates as a memorial hall for him. Inside the memorial hall, there are preserved spaces like Mr. Qian’s lecture hall, study room, and living bedroom from the past. Friends interested in classical Chinese studies are invited to visit the memorial hall of this great master. The opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 09:00 to 17:00 all year round; closed all day on Mondays and public holidays. Essential tips: 1. Smoking, eating, shouting, running, bringing pets or dangerous items are strictly prohibited in this hall; please cooperate with the staff and maintain order and cleanliness within the hall. 2. Please take care of the displayed cultural relics in this hall; those who damage the exhibits or related facilities will be held responsible for compensation. 3. Children under ten years old must be accompanied by an adult during the visit. 4. No photography or video recording is allowed inside the hall without permission.
