In the early days, Qijin was called ‘Qihou’, referring to the tribe located behind Qishan Mountain
In the late Qing Dynasty, due to its favorable geographical location, Qijin became a trading port

After the official opening of the Qihou area, all industries flourished and it was extremely bustling
It is an area with early development in Kaohsiung
The Kaohsiung City government has invested more than 50 billion yuan to build the Qijin Coastal Park on the peninsula
Here, there are throngs of tourists and it has become a great place for sightseeing and relaxation
The Qijin Coastal Park can be divided into four areas: a seawater bathing beach, a seaside viewing trail, an off-road area, and a natural area
There is also a seaside viewing platform supported by 15 pillars, which extends from the shore into the sea
Standing on the platform, one can personally experience the huge force generated by the impact of waves
There are many bicycle rental points in the park, and there are also dedicated bicycle lanes
You might as well choose to ride a bicycle and stroll around the park
On the park’s trails, there are many patterns of various marine creatures made of colored floor tiles, bringing you closer to the ocean
Along the 1-kilometer-long trail, there are specially built gazebos for tourists to rest and viewing platforms from which to overlook the sea view
