This street, stretching over 400 meters in length and running east to west, is named after its location on a sand ridge that resembles a vertebral隆起.

Zhonghua Street, Xinghua Street, and Sha Ji Street are all built on the same sand ridge, and these three streets are connected end-to-end, forming a bustling commercial long street in the early days of Beihai. Later, locals collectively referred to these three streets as Sha Ji Street.
