The characteristic seafood of Shanwan Fishing Village, combined with its beautiful natural and cultural landscapes, allows visitors to enjoy seafood while admiring the mountains and the sea, and even offers a distant view of the majestic Hangzhou Bay跨海 Bridge. The panoramic view of the mountain village, fishing boats, beaches, and the vast ocean provides an audio-visual and gustatory experience.

The ancestors of this fishing village were not originally from Zhapu, but rather from Fujian. They were customs officials stationed by the sea during the Ming and Qing dynasties and later made a living from fishing. This tradition has been passed down from generation to generation, and thus, Zhapu Shanwan has come to have this fishing village, where almost every household owns a fishing boat.
