Shihding Ciandao Lake is located in Yong’an Village, Shihding District. It is part of the upper reaches of the Feicui Reservoir. When the reservoir was constructed, surrounding villages were relocated, and some of the hills in Yong’an Village became the catchment area, forming lakes of various sizes and shapes. The scenery is reminiscent of Zhejiang Thousand Islands Lake, hence the name. Shihding Township was once the main area for coal mining and is also a renowned production area for Taiwan’s famous Dongfang Meiren tea. From the moment one enters Shihding, vast tea fields unfold before the eyes, with the terraced fields stretching out in a grand and boundless manner, creating a beautiful picture. The area around Shihding Ciandao Lake is lush with green mountains and clear waters, and trees are abundant. Visitors can walk along the Yong’an scenic trail to the hillside by the lake to overlook the entire lake area, offering a refreshing and invigorating experience. The site is open all year round and accessible 24 hours a day.
