Shimen Mountain, named for its location on the west side of the Shimen Reservoir, offers a multitude of intersecting trails with gentle slopes and ample shade provided by the lush forest cover along the paths. As you stroll, you’ll encounter acacia trees, tung trees, and a variety of ferns, with the air filled with the refreshing scent of phytoncide, making it an ideal spot for a family spring outing. At an elevation of 550 meters, Shimen Mountain boasts unobstructed views due to the lack of surrounding barriers. Upon reaching the summit, visitors are greeted by a large statue of Guanyin, offering panoramic views of Dahan Creek and Daxi Longtan mountain ranges. It’s a vantage point from which to savor the beauty of the landscape from above. The mountain is open all year round, accessible 24/7, with specific business hours subject to daily operation status.
