Shuhuo Memorial Paper Museum

After five years of meticulous planning by the Changchun Cotton Paper Foundation, the Shuhuo Memorial Paper Museum officially opened its doors to the public in October 1995. The museum was established in memory of Chen Shuhuo and his wife, Chen Fengjiao, who tragically lost their lives in the 1990 Guangzhou Baiyun Airport hijacking and mid-air collision incident. It also aims to promote the culture of paper. The essence of the museum lies in its interactive nature, and thus, within this four-story building spanning approximately 1,600 square meters, it features lively exhibition designs and educational activities that encourage visitor participation, with the goal of maximizing the museum’s role in educational promotion. By systematically collecting and collating local paper historical artifacts, the Shuhuo Memorial Paper Museum has become a paper museum with distinctive local characteristics. The museum is open from Tuesday to Friday, 13:00 to 16:30 all year round; on Saturdays, it is open from 09:30 to 16:30. The specific operating status is subject to the daily opening conditions. Announcement for July-August: Mondays are reserved for group appointments; the museum is closed on Sundays.
