Upon entering the Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone in Sanya, Hainan, the first sight that greets visitors is the grand entrance, featuring a tall gatehouse in the architectural style of the Northern and Southern Dynasties in Chinese history. The gate’s lintel boldly displays the characters ‘Non-Dual,’ hence the name ‘The Non-Dual Gateway.’ This is in accordance with a fundamental concept in Buddhist theory (see the introductory photo of the Non-Dual Gateway), where ‘Non-Dual’ also refers to ‘No-Two’ or ‘Beyond Extremes.’
The site is open all year round from 08:00 to 17:00, with specific operating conditions subject to the day’s opening status.
