The Thirty-three Guanyin Hall is developed and constructed relying on the unique natural landscapes of mountains and seas and rich historical and cultural origins of Nanshan. Based on the beautiful legend that Guanyin Bodhisattva once ‘rode a dragon to the South China Sea to promote Buddhism’. The temple leans against the twin peaks of Nanshan, surrounded by mounds on the left and tombs on the right, facing the vast expanse of blue waves. It is the center of the dragon vein of Nanshan. This is a cultural place that integrates Guanyin culture, the culture of Wealth God Long Wuye, and folk culture. Covering an area of 3,300 square meters, it was meticulously crafted by more than 130 artisans over four years and has been recorded in the Guinness World Records. It has the reputation of ‘the world’s largest group of thirty-three Guanyin statues’. The main deities enshrined in the courtyard are the group statues of thirty-three manifestations of Guanyin Bodhisattva, the full relief of Guanyin Bodhisattva’s three disasters and eight difficulties, the twelve great vows prayer wheel pillar of Guanyin Bodhisattva, the first wealth god in the world, Long Wuye, the number one cornucopia in the world, and the first prayer dragon gate in the South China Sea.
