图片描述
In the past, before the Alishan Highway was opened, to enter Alishan, one could only pass through this bridge
At that time, the Japanese built the ‘Tianchangdijiu Bridge’ to celebrate the birthdays of Emperor Showa (Emperor Hirohito) and Empress (Empress Nagako, Empress Kojun) of that year
Because in Japan, the emperor’s birthday is called ‘Tenchō-setsu’ and the empress dowager’s birthday is called ‘Chikyū-setsu’
So these two bridges are named ‘Tenchō Bridge’ and ‘Chikyū Bridge’ respectively
Together they are called the ‘Tianchangdijiu Bridge’ to bless the marriage of the emperor and empress
Open all year round and all day
