It has had a tumultuous past, having been sold off during the restructuring of commercial enterprises in Haikou City and turned into a private shop’s warehouse.
Today, after restoration, the Tianhou Palace stands majestic with its typical traditional Chinese beam-raising architectural style and exquisite wood carvings throughout. Whether admiring the grandeur of ancient architecture or experiencing the profound culture of Mazu, the Tianhou Palace is a must-visit attraction when in Qilou Old Street. It is open all year round from 08:00 to 17:30, with specific business hours subject to daily opening conditions.
