Tianhu Scenic Area

Tianhu Scenic Area is located in the central part of the Southern Anhui Tourism Area, at the southeastern foot of Huangshan Scenic Area, in Shanchacun, Tangkou Town, with a distance of only 6 kilometers from the south gate of Huangshan Scenic Area. It is adjacent to the 4A-level scenic spots, Feicui Valley and Jiulong Waterfall, and belongs to the “Two Mountains and One Lake” tourism area, with a significant location advantage.

The scenic area is rich in natural resources, featuring the high-altitude lake in the Eastern China region – Tianhu, at an altitude of 1184 meters, with thousands of acres of bamboo forests and tea gardens complementing each other. The scenic area is designed based on the principles of differentiation and specialization, fully avoiding similar and identical projects with surrounding scenic spots, deeply exploring the water culture, bamboo culture, and tea culture资源优势 within the area, highlighting the ecological concept of mountains, water, bamboo seas, and tea gardens. The scenic area is divided into five major themed areas: canyon sightseeing, water entertainment, bamboo sea customs, tea garden experience, and Shan Yue folk culture. Especially, the planning and design of tourist projects such as water slides, rock climbing on water, and exquisite craftsmanship have enriched the tourist participation experience and cultural leisure tourism content, making Tianhu Scenic Area a comprehensive scenic area integrating sightseeing, experience, and leisure, and it is vividly called the ‘Happy Valley Hidden in Huangshan’.

In the forest trails, one can shake off the worldly hustle and bustle and obtain long-lost tranquility and peace. You can also choose the thrilling bamboo sea surfing, fully experiencing the pleasure of shuttling through the bamboo sea. The scenic area has the bamboo sea slide coaster (also known as the roller coaster in the bamboo sea) within Anhui Province. The slide, shaped like a water channel, starts at the top of the bamboo sea, twists and turns in the mountains, and crosses the bamboo sea, with a total length of 800 meters and a vertical drop of 120 meters. The short time for sliding is 2 minutes and 21 seconds, reaching a speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The slide coaster uses domestically advanced carriages that can adjust speed on their own, which is safe and reliable.
