Tiantai Mountain Ci’en Temple

This temple is built against a cave. As early as the Han Dynasty, there were Indian monks living in seclusion for cultivation. The construction date is unknown. It has always been a place for quiet cultivation and enlightenment, commonly known as Yan’an Temple. In the seventeenth year of Kaihuang in the Sui Dynasty, the Dharma protector of Master Zhiyi manifested auspiciousness here. It is said that Emperor Kangxi also once stayed here.
