Tongxiang Sequoia Village Scenic Area

Sequoia Village Scenic Area is named after the green giant panda – the yew tree, which is abundantly planted in the area. It is equipped with the former residence of Mr. Yangyuan, yew tree gardens, a water-based conference room, a music-themed restaurant, and Huizhou-style guest rooms.
The scenic area is named after ‘Bu Nong Shu’, a work created by Mr. Yangyuan, an agricultural expert during the Ming and Qing dynasties, in 1658. It has profound cultural connotations and historical background. Chen Hengli, an agricultural history expert in our country, has conducted extensive research on ‘Bu Nong Shu’, calling it one of the great works that summarize the agricultural economy and technology at the end of the Ming and the beginning of the Qing dynasty, and a valuable heritage in the history of our country’s agriculture.

With ‘Bu Nong Shu’ as the main line, the scenic area is built to study and think about historical agricultural knowledge, create tourist attractions, and promote the brand of historical celebrities to enhance the level of rural tourism, attracting visitors to come and enjoy.

Inside the scenic area, there are four gardens (peach garden, pear garden, vegetable garden, and fruit garden) and one farm (free-range chicken and duck farm). Here, people can wear straw hats, carry hoes, farm and enjoy themselves, and be self-sufficient. When tired, one can lie in the fields; when thirsty, one can easily pick fruits without pesticides; when wanting to play, one can tread water wheels, catch fish in muddy water, play with broken bows, and chase chickens and ducks; when hungry, one can hide by the water and taste delicious farm dishes.

When you shake your head and tail, and show a graceful demeanor, you can witness the endless agricultural history.
