Twin Hills Park

Located at the southeast corner of the park, Twin Hills covers an area of 300,000 square meters with the highest peak reaching 48 meters, making it the first artificial mountain structure in the country to surpass a height of 40 meters. As the ‘green highland’ of Shanghai’s urban area, Twin Hills is designed with a focus on ‘landscape mountain building’. Over 7,000 trees are planted on the mountain, meeting the urban landscape requirement of ‘full arbor and shrub coverage’. It forms a rich ‘natural landform’ landscape area and fully considers the continuity and integration of the mountain with the entire park. The use of earth-covered architecture and the techniques of stacking mountains and arranging waters are employed to restore the natural charm of forests, streams, and waterfalls, showcasing the style of urban forests. The winding paths set among the hills allow citizens to walk, rest, and enjoy the view. The hollow structure of the mountain houses functional facilities such as parking lots and substations, and is interconnected with the outside. Through the ecological space that penetrates the landscape, a ‘fragrant green appreciation, moving steps and changing scenes’ effect is created, painting a livable picture of ‘mountains in the city, water in the mountains, and people in the scenery’. Open all year round from 08:00 to 18:30. Preferential policy for children: Children under 1.0m in height do not need to make a reservation, must be accompanied by an adult, and are not allowed to climb the mountain alone; free.
