Wangong Dyke

Wangong Dyke is adjacent to the edge of East Taihu Lake and echoes Suzhou Bay Bridge from a distance. Looking down from the air, a sharp contrast between modernity and history is presented. Wangong Dyke is named after Wan Qingxuan, an expert in water conservancy in the Qing Dynasty. He built a pond road from Sanli Bridge to Dapu Bridge. Now this road has become a national cultural relic protection unit and one of the important heritage sites of the Grand Canal, ‘Jiu Li Shi Tang’. Open all year round and open all day.
