Weizhou Island Lighthouse

Entering the Crocodile Mountain Scenic Area at the southwestern end of Weizhou Island, a tall lighthouse can be seen. This is the Weizhou Island Lighthouse – one of the landmark buildings of Weizhou Island. Although this lighthouse is the highest point on the island, currently it is not possible to climb the tower for sightseeing. It can only be used as a background for tourists to take pictures and commemorate. The Weizhou Lighthouse was initially established in 1956 as a navigation mark for ships coming and going nearby. It was rebuilt from the original iron frame structure into a stone tower. Later, in 2002, it was reconstructed into the 22-meter-high tower seen now. The outer side of the lighthouse is pasted with white imitation stone bricks. There is a spiral staircase inside. The upper part of the tower has an observation deck.

Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:00 to 17:30.
