There are more than a dozen scenic spots named ‘gate’ in Yandang Mountain, with Xianshengmen being the most prominent. The Xianshengmen Scenic Area is located in the northern part of Yandang Mountain. The main scenic spot, Xianshengmen, is known as ‘the first gate under heaven’. If XianSheng Gate has a ‘highly tense’ momentum, then the Futouxi and Songpoxi streams in the scenic area are just the opposite. They all reveal a soft and relaxing scene. The harmony of the spiritual energy of the mountains and waters here, contrasting with each other, forms unlimited scenery. Xianshengmen is also called ‘Xiansheng Gate’. The two cliffs are as high as 200 meters, and the distance between them is only a few meters. Walking into the gate along the winding stone road and looking up, the top of the cliff is closed, leaving only a thin line. The effect produced by this close distance is extremely strong, making people dizzy and unable to stay for long. Going in several hundred feet further, the sheer cliffs close in on all sides, and the mountain stream at the foot is gurgling, very deep and quiet. There are also rare cultural and natural landscapes in the scenic area: At the entrance of the scenic area is the Nan’ge Memorial Archway Group with Ming Dynasty architectural style, simple and majestic; Zhang Lun’s Tomb, one of the largest existing tombs in Yueqing City. In addition, there are natural landscapes such as Sanshui Waterfall, and the Stone Buddha Cave between the cliffs inside Xianshengmen.
