The Gaoyou Canal Xidi scenic belt is one of the major projects started simultaneously for the 2500th anniversary celebration of Yangzhou City. It has built an international marathon track with Gaoyou cultural characteristics (Gaoyou Grand Canal Half Marathon) and a环湖 bicycle track (International Cycling Race around Gaoyou Lake). According to the requirements of provincial-level water conservancy scenic areas, the Canal Xidi scenic belt will be further comprehensively built to adorn the brilliant pearl of the canal. The construction of a water conservancy exhibition hall and a lake biological exhibition hall will be implemented. The Canal Xidi scenic belt is close to the wide Gaoyou Lake and adjacent to the prosperous Gaoyou City in the east. After completion, it can also connect the natural tourism resources along Gaoyou Lake into a line, promoting the tourism development of Gaoyou Lake and making it a new growth point for Gaoyou’s tourism industry.
