Originally known as the Hongchaojiang Reservoir, Xingdao Lake derives its name from the 1026 islands scattered across its clear and azure waters, resembling stars in the sky. Surrounded by lush green mountains, these islands are nestled close to each other, with the lake’s water being so clear and green that it feels warm in winter and cool in summer. A boat ride through these islands offers an excellent way to explore the area.
Xingdao Lake is also the filming location for the CCTV production of ‘Water Margin’, with an island hosting a ‘Water Margin City’, which is divided into four sections: Liangshan Area, Wenshu Courtyard, Yongjin Gate, and Suhang Water Street. Strolling through the Liangshan Area, where the heroes gathered, one is surrounded by lifelike statues, making it feel as if one has been transported back to the era of the greenwood’s contention.
Opening hours are from 08:00 to 17:00 all year round. For preferential policies, please note the following: 1. Discounted tickets are available for children between 1.2 meters (inclusive) and 1.4 meters (exclusive) in height; students, journalists, military personnel, the disabled, and seniors over 70 years old with a valid ID or senior citizen card can enjoy a discounted price of 80 yuan per person. 2. Children under 1.2 meters (exclusive of 1.2 meters) enter for free. 3.
