Xinyangnu Lake is a typical mud volcano of the spouting mud basin type, continuing the mud volcano range of Wushan Peak
Due to its high water content, it has gathered into a lake
The lake is also known as ‘Boiling Water Lake’ because of the continuous eruption of black mud from its center, which sounds like boiling water
Legend has it that a long time ago, near Xinyangnu Lake, there was an adopted daughter who was deeply in love with a young man from the same village
However, her adoptive mother forced her to marry a different brother, leading the couple to jointly commit suicide in the lake
In memory of this tragic story, the lake is named ‘Xinyangnu Lake’
Xinyangnu Lake is situated on private land, where the owner has specially set up viewing platforms and rest facilities around the lake
Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Yancao area
The lake is open to the public from 08:00 to 18:00 all year round
