Xisha Islands

The Xisha Islands are the largest archipelago in terms of land area in the South China Sea, stretching from Beiji Jiao in the north to Xianqu Tan in the south, from Xidou Tan in the east to Zhongjian Dao in the west. They are under the jurisdiction of the Xisha District of Sansha City, Hainan Province.

The Xisha Islands are scattered over an area of more than 500,000 square kilometers of sea, comprising 22 islands, 7 sandbanks, 8 atolls, 1 table reef, and 1 submerged reef beach. The total land area is approximately 10 square kilometers, with a coastline of 518 kilometers. Among them, Yongxing Island is the largest with an area of 3.2 square kilometers (including Shi Island), Shi Island is the highest with an elevation of 15.9 meters, and the Gaojian Stone in the Dongdao Atoll is a volcanic breccia island in the South China Sea. The islands are open all year round from 08:00 to 18:00.
