Yin Fu’s Former Residence

Yin Fu, born on June 11, 1910, in a peasant family under a large elm tree at the southern end of Daxu Village, Huaizhu Township, Xiangshan County. He was a proletarian revolutionary poet and one of the ‘Five Martyrs of the League of Left-Wing Writers’. The main room of Yin Fu’s former residence has three sections; the eastern part was where Yin Fu lived and studied as a teenager, the eastern secondary room is where he was born, and the western part is now used for management purposes. The eastern and western side rooms are now converted into exhibition rooms of his deeds.
The backyard of the former residence, originally a vegetable garden, now features a pond and a corridor. In the pond, there is a hexagonal pavilion and a stele inscribed with the words ‘Poetry’s Favorite Child’ by revolutionary poet Ding Ling. Around the corridor, more than 60 stone tablets are embedded on the walls, engraved with revolutionary verses written by calligraphers from all over the country. The residence is open to the public year-round from 09:00 to 16:30.
