Hainan Yongqing Temple is a Buddhist lineage inherited from the Tang Dynasty. Historically, Yongqing Temple was first established during the Tang Dynasty, with a history of over a thousand years, and is one of the ancient ‘Chengmai Eight Scenic Spots’.
The forty-two Buddha statues enshrined in the current Yongqing Temple are all carved from whole pieces of Burmese white jade, possessing high artistic and cultural value. It is the largest Buddhist temple in the northern part of Hainan Island, laid out according to the Song Dynasty’s ‘Jialan Seven Halls’ format, with grand and magnificent halls.
