Yulinzhou is located in the sea area on the west side of Hainan. Here, the seawater is clear and the coast is covered with reefs, presenting a primitive scenery.
The most eye-catching thing on the beach is the lighthouse standing on the rocky hill.
The sand quality of Yulinzhou is different from that of ordinary beaches. Here, it is mainly a small stone beach with large particles. Although it is soft, if you step on it barefoot, there is still a little sting.
In addition to the beautiful scenery, there is also a legendary story circulating here. According to legend, in ancient times, there lived a loving couple here. Later, the husband was killed by the enemy due to being outnumbered. After seeing her husband’s body, the wife was extremely grief-stricken and turned into a petrel. Every day, she carried mud to cover her husband’s body. Gradually, the soil piled up into a high mountain. The layered appearance is very much like fish scales. To commemorate them, the local people named this place Yulinzhou.
