The Zhongtai World Museum has a quite rich collection of Buddhist historical relics
The main exhibition axes in the museum are divided into three categories: ‘text, image, and scripture’, conveying three main axes: ‘text conveys the Dao, image imprints the mind, and scripture spreads the Dharma’
‘Text conveys the Dao’ mainly features rubbings of inscriptions from past dynasties, showing aspects such as orthodoxy, etiquette, literature, and art in traditional Chinese culture
‘Image imprints the mind’ mainly consists of the museum’s Buddhist cultural relics, statues, and stele statues, presenting the religious spirit, connotations, and artistic forms of statue making in Buddhist culture
‘Scripture spreads the Dharma’ mainly features rubbings of stone scriptures from past dynasties, the museum’s Buddhist scriptures and the Classic of Filial Piety, explaining the cultural inheritance of scriptures and the significance of engraving scriptures
The architectural complex of the Zhongtai World Museum uses the ‘Chinese-style Western construction’ method to present the beauty of Chinese architecture
The exterior shape is like Chang’an City in the Tang Dynasty, with the meaning of ‘strictly protecting the Dharma city’ in Buddhism, which is a city that protects Buddhism and historical relics
The hip roof and the image of ancient city walls represent the temporal and spatial context of the fusion of tradition and modernity, East and West, and Buddhism and Chinese culture
