The main entrance of Zhongzheng Park is located on Xin’er Road, accessible by climbing the steps or walking up the ramp on the side. The park itself is divided into three levels. The first level features pavilions, a chess center, and sports and leisure facilities, which often attract large crowds of visitors on holidays. The second level is the site of the ‘Main Pudian’. The annual Keelung Zhongyuan Pudu ceremony is held here, with a sea of people and a spectacular scene. At the highest point of the park stands a white Guanyin Buddha statue, a 22.5-meter-tall Guanyin statue divided into five levels, from which one can ascend to overlook the entire city of Keelung, making it a representative landmark of Keelung City. On both sides of the Buddha statue, there are two huge golden lions sitting, exuding peace and solemnity. Around the Buddha statue, there are also eighteen statues of Arhats, each with a different expression and posture, very vivid and interesting. About 0.8 kilometers ahead from Zhongzheng Park, on the right side in the Mei Garden, there is an 8-inch steel cannon made in Britain in 1887, moved from the Baimi Weng Fort, which is worth a visit. The park is open all year round, with full-day access.
