Zhuangyuan Potstickers

Niuzhi Zhuangyuan Hall is a hall building in Huzhou area that is related to the imperial examination culture. It houses a collection of physical materials related to the imperial examinations, which are of significant value for the study of this culture. Moreover, the architecture itself is a representative of the traditional Jiangnan water town buildings.
Originally, Niuzhi Zhuangyuan Hall served as the ancestral hall of the Western branch of the Niu family. After Niu Fubao became the top scholar, he partially renovated the hall to serve as the ‘Zhuangyuan Hall’, where various artifacts from generations of successful candidates of the Niu family are displayed. The hall comprises an entrance hall, a ceremonial gate, a screen wall, a main hall, eastern and western wing buildings, and a garden.
